Based in Vancouver, this role is part of WSP's Water & Wastewater Infrastructure practice, where electrical engineering plays a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable systems for communities. As an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you will support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects that shape how water is treated, conveyed, and managed.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle-from concept and detailed design through construction and commissioning-while building the technical foundation for your professional engineering career.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $73,400 - $97,200
MB & ON: $67,000 - $92,200
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $66,300 - $88,000

Based in Vancouver, this role is part of WSP's Water & Wastewater Infrastructure practice, where electrical engineering plays a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable systems for communities. As an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you will support the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects that shape how water is treated, conveyed, and managed.
Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle-from concept and detailed design through construction and commissioning-while building the technical foundation for your professional engineering career.
Your Impact
- Support electrical, instrumentation, and controls (EIC) design for water and wastewater facilities, including treatment plants and pumping stations
- Contribute to designs for power distribution, lighting, PLCs, communications, and control systems
- Assist with preparation of drawings, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and presentations
- Support tender submissions, contractor submittal reviews, and shop drawing evaluations
- Participate in field reviews and site inspections under the supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Contribute to commissioning activities to ensure systems perform safely and as intended
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality designs
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
- 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical or EIC system design, preferably within municipal water or wastewater projects
- Working knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, PLCs, communications, and P&IDs
- Exposure to municipal infrastructure projects or regulated environments is an asset
- Strong attention to detail, sound time-management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
