Developmental Disabilities Association is seeking an on-call Early Childhood Educator to join our Early Learning programs. Job Title: Casual Early Childhood Educator | #2166
Location: Vancouver / Richmond
Start Date: As soon as possible
Term/Status: Casual
Hourly Wage: $25.95 – $29.76 + 10.6% in lieu of benefits (start at $25.95 with a valid BC ECE Assistant Certificate, start at $26.83 with a valid BC ECE certificate)

*DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP collective agreement rates; WE funding is not paid above the ECE wage.

The Role:

The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides an enriched program for children which meet the needs of the families in the community. The ECE also provides opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact on a daily basis. The ECE works in conjunction with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Completion of BC Early Childhood Educator/Assistant Certification, or currently enrolled in ECE Program, and have ECEA certificate in the interim (2 days minimum availability is required)
  • Special Needs and/or Under 3 Certification is an asset but not required
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (training provided, if needed)
  • Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Eligible to work in Canada
