Doctors of BC, formerly known as the BC Medical Association (BCMA), is a voluntary association of 14,000 physicians, residents and medical students in British Columbia.

Doctors of BC relies on a strong and effective technology platform and team to maintain its systems for their members. The Director is a key leadership role and is responsible for developing and setting the strategic technology direction, encouraging innovation, and leading planning, operational sustainment and implementation.

Reporting directly to the Chief People & Technology Officer, the Director will oversee the IT team of technology professionals. The Director will ensure the departments’ activities are managed optimally in supporting of the organization’s needs. The Director will also have oversight of strategic technology innovation, planning, implementation and support that enables the association’s operations. In addition, the Director is responsible for strategic capacity and workforce planning, while also focusing on effective service level commitments, quality of service, employee development and budgeting.

The ideal candidate is a proven technology leader with a minimum of 10 years of progressive IT operations experience. The new Director will be highly strategic and bring a strong track record of leading top caliber teams, outstanding business acumen and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will also bring a track record of prioritizing and aligning technology strategy with business requirements and the ability to facilitate and manage change in an evolving and dynamic environment.
