As a SeniorDevOps Engineer on our Innovation Team, you will be a key player in the evolution of our security services strategic roadmap, and demonstrate your advanced development, testing, implementation and operations skills, improving our business critical security systems and applications.

Be responsible for creating consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of applications and infrastructure between non-production and production environments, driving efficiencies and building innovative solutions, all while enhancing service reliability at TELUS.

Be a collaborative technical leader and help drive our DevOps strategy forward. Your innovative mindset, technical skills, and passion for mentorship will be critical in helping TELUS' Innovation Team continue to grow its security practices and develop effective and efficient systems and applications. Your security focused, or "Secure-by-Design", mindset will help the team make strategic and tactical decisions while collaborating with internal and external partners, to drive our DevOps solutions and face the next generation of challenges we will face.

Here's how

As a DevOps Engineer, you bring;
    •A comprehensive understanding of and experience with DevOps and Agile Methodologies
    •In-depth knowledge of and hands-on working experience with object oriented programming languages such as Java
    •Sound experience with GIT/GITHub and SVN in a DevOps context
    •Comfort in configuring monitoring and alerting for system and application events
    •Knowledge of Data and Analytics tools like Splunk
    •Knowledge of System, Network and Security Design Principles like firewalls, subnets, routing, load balancing and more)
    •Experience with MySQL, SQL and Oracle databases
    •Excellent communication, troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
    •An understanding and conformance to Change Management Best Practices
    •A Strong aptitude to drive automation and innovative solutions for manual processes across Security Services


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •You hold a Post-secondary Degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences or Engineering
    •You have 5+ years of hands-on working experience in Application Development and Operations
    •You are willing and able to work on an on-call rotation
    •You are recognized for your ability to build and deliver on strategic plans for enhancements to existing applications or new project planning and implementation alike
    •You are sought out for your ability to build strong relationships with partners within the organization and internal and external stakeholders seamlessly
    •You are comfortable liaising directly with external vendors
    •You are commended for your strong analytical skills in support of role mining and are experience in writing technical documentation

Great-to-haves
    •Cybersecurity education or accreditations
    •Identity Access Management certifications or accreditations
    •Government of Canada Clearance
    •Experience in transitioning from manual provisioning to automation through role management
    •Knowledge of Saviynt Role Mining
    •Cloud certifications or accreditations
