This role is part of the SAP Analytics Cloud Platform Infrastructure team where we work with the latest cloud and networking technologies on AWS, Azure and Alibaba Cloud. We manage core infrastructure services to enable thousands of customers to find insights using the power of HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud

  • Because we work on the cutting edge, we need someone who is eager to learn, a creative problem solver, resourceful in getting things to work, and productive working independently or collaboratively. In your average week, you will:
    • Write and review code for distributed services to manage infrastructure for a production environment in a secure and reliable manner across multiple cloud hyperscalers
    • Work closely with operations and development teams to find and resolve issues in production environments and recommend mitigations and improvements for post-incident follow-ups and root cause analysis
    • Collaborate with team members to contribute key deliverables that provide innovative business value to our customers
    • Participate in a 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis (week-long every 7-8 weeks)

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering
  • A solid foundation of Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, HTTP, Restful APIs, and asynchronous web services
  • Experience using some of the following technology and tools:
    • Infrastructure software tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Consul, Packer, and Vault
    • CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins
    • Building containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker
    • Monitoring Cloud Applications (Elastic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus)
    • Cloud-Native development technologies and typically used software and architecture on Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, OpenStack and Cloud Foundry
  • Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms and principles of OO design
  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Test Driven Development, performance testing or data correctness/integrity testing
  • Understanding of databases and web application servers and hands-on experience of them in a production environment
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently and have a positive self-motivated can-do attitude
  • Bonus if you have experience with:
    • Understanding and implementing Kubernetes Operators
    • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server ( SLES ) environments
    • Working and operating SAP HANA databases
