Your new role
In this role, the successful candidate will be passionate about their career and want to add value to the design team. As a design technologist, you will be working on a variety of projects, from start to completion, working closely with clients and contractors and will require strong communication skills. You will be working with a drafting team and ensuring the team has clear direction. You will be working on various project types, such as, airport improvement projects (terminals, hangers), tilt up commercial warehousing, timber framed structures (CLT and glulam), multi-family residential structures, etc.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have minimum 3-5 years Canadian work experience. You will have structural engineer or architectural experience and have a complete understanding of structural building systems for gravity and lateral load paths. You will have experience working with steel, timber and concrete framing, and have the ability to determine the most appropriate for each project. The successful candidate will have full understanding of the BC Building Code Part 4 as well as its structural commentary is a requirement. Software proficiencies' preferred are, AutoCAD, Revit Wood Works, SAP2000, Safe, Microsoft excel and hand calculations.
