Salary: $52,000 annually (equal to $25.00 per hour)
Work schedules are expected to be shifts of 8.5 hours 5 days a week. Depending on the business operation, these shifts will continuously vary from early mornings, day, afternoons, evenings and overnights shifts. This role requires open availability work including weekends and weekdays, with varying days off.
In addition to the responsibilities of a Shift Supervisor, you are responsible for providing business leadership while running your assigned department that contributes to the overall success in achieving restaurant targets of sales, profit,and guest experience. You know how to energize and motivate our crew, inform them of business targets and ensure they receive the training and coaching to be successful.
On-Floor Shift Management and Area Supervision: ~75%-80%
Administrative Tasks: ~25%-20%

Qualifications
Ability To Supervise: 11-15 people
Education:
  • Secondary (High) school graduation certificate preferred
  • Holds valid First Aid and Food safety certifications (company to provide first class for qualified candidates if needed)

Experience:
  • Several years of recent experience in food preparation or food service are required * recent defined as within the last 3-5 years
  • 2+ years of recent restaurant or food-related management experience in a quick service, high volume setting (McDonald's experience is an asset) * recent defined as within the last 3-5 years
  • Previous experience leading a Kitchen, Guest Experience, or People Department
  • A permanent position; requires applicant to be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or legally entitled to work in Canada for 12 months or greater. This position does not include an LMIA

Proficiency with: MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Office, MS Access, Accounting software, Electronic cash register, Point of Sale system, MS Excel

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily shift accountability following McDonald's operations system
  • Identify operational gaps on shift, diagnose and provide direction and coaching
  • Review and analyze guest count, sales, and profit results
  • Regular monitoring of company communication to stay informed of promotions and procedural changes. May include sharing, teaching, or coaching staff on information received
  • Follow and oversee food safety standards through daily certifications, maintaining physical plant cleanliness standards, and monitoring staff actions
  • Follow McDonald's high standard of people practices
  • Seek guest feedback. Handle and document guest complaints
  • Monitor and report progress on department goals and objectives using department scorecard
  • Conduct weekly department walk-thru to assess performance, diagnose opportunities and identify action
  • Prepare for and participate in weekly manager's meeting
  • May run a secondary department in the absence of a Department Manager, assistant department supervisors reporting directly to the General Manager
