$61,665.45 - $70,367.02 annually plus 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment

Working in an Information Technology Branch in a ministry, the Data Architect/Scientist typically reports to a bargaining unit supervisor or an excluded manager at the Business Leadership level. The Data Architect/Scientist is focused on analyzing data administration problems, providing guidance to a variety of clients, and developing approaches to improve data management within the ministry.

The purpose of this position is to deliver data administration services by providing technical guidance, consultation, technology research, development and implementation across the ministry on data standards and policy.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum 1-year related experience; OR
  • Diploma in computer science or a related field and a minimum 3 years related experience; OR
  • Certification in computer science or a related field and a minimum 5 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

     

    Related experience must include:

  • All phases of the Software development lifecycle (waterfall or agile)
  • Developing SQL queries to extract data from Oracle and/or mySQL databases.
  • Experience in data modelling and/or business area analysis techniques.
