We are currently seeking a Data Architect Consultant to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia (CA-BC), Canada (CA). Job Description:
As a Data Architect Consultant, you will provide industry best practices in the areas of data architecture, data governance, data strategy, and data management. You have experience facilitating workshops, interviews, or focus groups with stakeholders to gain an understanding of an organization's current state, values, needs, pain points, and business processes, such that you can create a data and analytics strategy and roadmap as well as a data management framework that meets stakeholder requirements. In addition, the following is a set of expected responsibilities:
•Perform discovery analyses to identify key stakeholders, business drivers, needs & values, pain points, data lifecycle and data requirements, current and desired capabilities, and business processes.
•Perform maturity assessments against existing data management artifacts and practices to identify current and desired organizational levels of maturity, change, and adoption readiness.
•Design data governance programs and implementation roadmaps with priorities tailored to the organizational needs, values, and constraints, including advising on data management roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
•Develop and implement data quality standards, data issue monitoring and resolution practice, business glossaries, metadata, master and reference data management, data interoperability and storage solutions in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
•Design and document conceptual and logical data models and process maps in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
•Provide subject-matter expertise on other data management aspects, such as data valuation and performance metrics, data modeling and architecture, data security, big data architectures and solutions.
•Provide subject-matter expertise related to on-premises or cloud BI/Analytic system/toolset architecture (logical and physical).
•Perform the responsibilities above in a variety of ways, such as through ad-hoc or regularly scheduled virtual and face-to-face meetings, interviews, surveys & questionnaires.
•Participate in bi-weekly or monthly meetings with the Data and AI Team to share best practices or contribute, when possible, to other teammates' active projects.
•Make recommendations to the Associate Director and Client Executives on planning and new business opportunities.
•Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote work scenario Mandatory Qualifications:
•Possess a college diploma or university degree focused on computer science, or equivalent experience.
•Seven (7) years developing and prioritizing client analytics solution roadmaps showing the intersection of business benefits with an incremental solution delivery, including costing estimates and staffing considerations.
•Seven (7) years of experience in requirements analysis and enterprise data architecture focused on strategic and conceptual modeling of stakeholders, goals, drivers, constraints, values, requirements, capabilities, business processes, business objects, and data models.
•Seven (7) years experience building relationships with CxOs or key business stakeholders responsible for information and performance management.
•Seven (7) years experience overseeing and supporting the design, development, and implementation of data warehousing and reporting and analytics solutions that deliver information efficiently, with the end goal to solve business challenges and achieve business objectives.
•Five (5) years experience planning analytic system/toolset architecture - logical and physical - for a Microsoft solution (on-premises or cloud).
•Five (5) years providing oversight and expertise in data modeling, source-to-target mapping, database design, data dictionaries, and architecture modeling, including documentation. Nice to Have Qualifications:
•Experience developing analytics solutions (data warehousing / tabular models / ETL processes / reporting solutions)
•Writing complex SQL and T-SQL queries
•Authoring and facilitating custom training materials to clients
•Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab.
•Advanced Analytics (ML/AI) experience, such as classification models, k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests. About NTT DATA Services
