Allocadia is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join our Operations team! As the Corporate Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll for over 100 employees covering our Canadian, US, UK, and Irish payroll operations. You will also be responsible for assisting in the full cycle accounting functions which includes but not limited to the following: employee benefit administration, employee expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, government remittances and other tasks as assigned.

The Role:

As the Corporate Accountant you’ll be positioned within the finance department at Allocadia, this role will be responsible for the coordination of efforts between payroll, finance, people and culture and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of all data (including preparation and distribution of detailed reports). Other responsibilities include:


  • Process full cycle semi-monthly payroll for Canadian and US employees, including year end tax filings (ie. T4, T4A, 1099 Misc, W2), ensure completeness for taxable benefits and deductions and generate reports as requested
  • Communicate and prepare monthly payroll with our International Payroll Service provide for our European employees
  • Maintain payroll information current and address/resolve any employee inquiries
  • Administer and process Benefits plans for Canadian and US Employees
  • Prepare Records of Employment, source deductions, WCB filings, statutory remittances and government reporting (including government surveys)
  • Ensure compliance and up-to-date payroll legislations with provincial/state wage and labour laws regarding payments, termination, and etc.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders (People & Culture, Finance, internal management team, payroll provider) and build a payroll process that is efficient, effective, and compliant
  • Act as the first point of contact for management and payroll provider on all payroll issues
  • Responsible for preparing semi-monthly and monthly payroll journal entries, GL account reconciliations and payroll analysis
  • Prepare commission and annual bonus calculations as assigned

Accounts Payable

  • Manage full cycle of employee expenses via Concur including reviewing, exporting to accounting system and reimbursement
  • Assist with credit card reconciliation
  • Manage vendor invoices including coding invoices, journal entries and cheque run
  • Manage GST & PST monthly filing and remittances
  • Manage US sales tax registration, filing and remittances
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Generate and send client invoices and collections


  • Assist with month/quarter-end tasks, working paper and reporting as assigned
  • Assist with external audit year-end working papers, preparation and inquiries
  • Assist with all corporate tax filings
  • Support team with tasks and projects assigned by the VP, Finance and Operations, Controller and Senior Manager, People and Culture
  • Assist in other areas or projects in the department that may be required


  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive payroll and benefits experience
  • Must have Canadian and US payroll experience and a strong knowledge of current Canadian and US payroll rules and laws
  • Previous experience implementing new payroll systems
  • Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
  • Previous experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable functions
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, time-manage in a fast-paced, metric driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead multiple projects, prioritize, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions
  • Results-oriented and process driven, with high expectations of self and team and proven ability to think outside the box
  • Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail

  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup etc.)
