Electronics Hardware and Firmware Designer

We are seeking an individual with hardware and firmware experience. The new team member will help expand and fulfill our product line. You will join an environment of high collaboration. Work will include hardware design, schematic capture, layout and firmware development.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in new product definition efforts
  • Hardware design, schematic capture and layout
  • VHDL design & programming
  • Create test procedures, and document technical work clearly
  • Collaborate with a cross‐functional technical team
  • Research new technologies and methods to improve the company’s products and processes
  • Manage multiple competing tasks
  • Communicate your developed works  with internal and external customers
  • Participate in peer review of designs; provide and receive critique in an effective manner
  • Work effectively to deliver quality products in a fast‐paced, deadline‐oriented environment
Qualifications  
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience or equivalent
  • 3 years of product development experience
  • Schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board layout experience required
  • Hands on experience soldering, reworking SMT and wiring
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with high attention to details, quality, and meeting deadlines
  • Effective organizational and goal‐oriented skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commitment to creating world class products with a continual focus on customer needs Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to trouble shoot electronic circuits
  • Knowledge about semiconductor devices such as BJTs, MOSFETs and IGBTs
  • Capable of exploring design options and making design decisions with minimal supervision
  • Experience using laboratory test and measurement equipment
  • Schematic Capture and Layout Computer Aided Design experience (preferably Altium)
  • VHDL design, coding, simulation, synthesis and programming
  • Familiarity with C and C++ Programming
  • Version control experience
  • Experience with motor control, PID tuning, motion control is considered a plus
