Scope

The City of Surrey's Parks, Recreation and Culture Department provides exciting opportunities and challenges in an active and energetic environment and is looking for an enthusiastic Summer Program Junior Leader for public programs, tours, and special events at Historic Stewart Farm.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers hands-on heritage activities for visitors. • Performs heritage demonstrations. • Assists with researching crafts, activities, and demonstrations. • Interprets local history. • Leads guided tours of the site. • Oversees crafts and activities during special events. • Supports the site's Summer Day Camp programs as needed. Qualifications

• Between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment. • Must be current (January - April 2024) full-time student in a recognized post-secondary program. • Planning to return to full-time studies in the Fall of 2024.

Other Information

Pay Grade: Schedule D

Hourly Rate: $21.64
Screening Applicants Early April Interviews Early April References and Police Information Check Mid April Extending Offers Dependant on Grant Funding Training Begins Mid June (dependent on Grant Funding)

Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check.
