About the Opportunity

Mainland Machinery is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team in Abbotsford, British Columbia on a full-time basis.

Reporting into the Shop Foreman and working alongside a highly motivated team of like-minded individuals you will use your technical expertise with GibbsCam or MasterCam to carry out CNC programming and production.

Your duties will also include:

  • Reviewing blueprints, drawings or instructions to understand specifications and setup requirements. Thenusingthis information to take measurements and mark dimensions and reference points on the material for cutting or shaping before selecting, aligning, and securing attachments on appropriate machines to position or load materials as required for a job.
  • Monitoring machines while working to detect malfunctions, adjust the feed, maintain temperature, and identify issues.
  • Verifying finished works using measuring and inspection tools to ensure conformance.
  • Performing routine machine maintenance and repairing minor damages.
  • Maintaining a clean atmosphere in a positive work environment.

To qualify for this role you will have at least 3 - 5 years of CNC programming experience with demonstratable experience using either GibbsCam or MasterCam. Applicants with a Red Seal qualification will be given preference.
