Key performance requirements have been demonstrated at the system level, setting the stage for building a pre-commercial fusion power prototype.

Position Overview:

Supporting the Senior Buyer, you will work closely with engineers and scientists, and be involved in a full range of Supply Management activities to facilitate the timely and cost-effective sourcing, purchasing and inventory of electronic, mechanical, and electrical engineering components, equipment, and materials. This is your chance to be part of a team building the processes and procedures necessary for a highly effective materials management system. The position is very broad and will require a lot of hands-on work, procurement system data management, as well as administrative responsibilities.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, place, expedite and coordinate purchase orders to ensure the timely delivery of merchandise
  • Assist the Senior Buyer, Engineers and Scientists in qualifying and selecting vendors and suppliers
  • Solicit and analyze competitive quotes
  • Negotiate contracts and terms of purchase
  • Customs Expediting
  • Purchasing
    • PO Generation within ERP/procurement system
    • Management of product setups within ERP/procurement system
    • Compliance with company purchasing policies and approval workflows
    • Order Tracking
    • AP Paperwork
    • Shipping / Receiving (International Experience an asset)

Relevant Skills and Experience:


  • 3-5  years in a purchasing/logistics/shipping receiving environment
  • International / Global Shipping experience
  • Comfort/aptitude with Inventory Management and Procurement Systems
  • Familiar with freight, duties, customs, and other logistics
  • Familiar working Vendors & Suppliers
  • Must exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong Team Player, a self-starter, and innovator able to interact with a broad range of people, including scientists, engineers, fabricators, and accountants
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent PC and MS Office Application Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word )
  • Knowledge of ERP/procurement Systems as an asset


  • Knowledge of ERP Systems is certainly an asset (NetSuite specifically is a bonus)
