We’re seeking forward thinking, customer-focused business intelligence solution developers to join our mature Business Intelligence and Analytics team which has been rated as one of the best in the Canadian public sector. Our team includes data warehouse specialists, BI solution developers, BI solution specialists, and masters-level data scientists.


In this role, you’ll contribute to the effectiveness of WorkSafeBC, by providing business information, analytical advice, and decision support to an assigned area of responsibility. Additionally, we’ve embarked on a multi-year effort to migrate technology workloads to the cloud – for Business Intelligence and Analytics, this means re-developing and re-designing many production business intelligence solutions.


What you’ll do

As a business intelligence solution developer you will:

  • Develop BI solutions such as reports, dashboards, BI apps and conduct analyses on a wide variety of issues (e.g. occupational health and safety, financial risk exposure, disability management)
  • Capture, analyze, and document detailed requirements from our internal customers in order to design, develop, and support new and currently offered high quality business intelligence reporting solutions, both from strategic and operational perspectives
  • Collaborate with data warehouse specialists, BI solution specialists, data scientists, and project managers to collectively deliver the best value for the opportunity

  • Design and develop solutions that will promote usability, standardization, and self-serve opportunities
  • Ensure that the client’s changing solution requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner and translated into workable solutions
  • Turn data into information and information into actionable intelligence that drives an improved decision
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies that utilize business intelligence principles
  • Navigate large complex data models


Your experience and educational background:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as business, computer science, statistics, or social science
  • A minimum of three years of recent, related work experience in business analysis and/or management information systems and reporting/BI solution development
  • Experience in developing reports and dashboards at an advanced level using SQL and business intelligence reporting and dashboard tools (e.g., SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS)
