Associate Research Scientist - Molecular Biology

We are seeking an experienced Associate Research Scientist with a deep understanding of molecular biology techniques to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary molecular biology group. How you might spend your days:

• Performing a variety of established protocols for high-throughput recombinant antibody generation including high-throughput cloning, vector design and engineering, PCR and DNA purification
• Participating in the planning and executing of experiments, either independently or in collaboration with your teammates
• Optimizing existing protocols to improve throughput, efficiency, and/or robustness, or developing new protocols in collaboration with teammates
• Analyzing and summarizing key data sets and results, and prepare research updates for internal review, including written reports and oral presentations
• Operating and maintaining lab instruments and automation robots
• Assisting in reagent preparation, maintenance, and quality control
• Developing and implementing standard operating procedures

Required qualifications and experience:

• A MSc in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology or other relevant field) with a preference for work experience in molecular biology or (single) cell biology
• A deep understanding of advanced molecular biology techniques including PCR, DNA purification and cloning techniques
• A basic understanding of antibody structure and function (don’t worry, we’ll get you up to speed!)
• Experience in mammalian gene expression and/or next generation sequencing is an asset
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
