Position Summary 

Microserve is looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Burnaby, BC.  You will be responsible for maintaining receivable transactions, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. The successful candidate must have the ability to maintain professional behavior under pressure in email communications and on the telephone. The successful candidate will also need to possess exceptional customer service, strong computer, and data entry skills. Working as part of our Accounting team, this role will report to the Assistant Controller. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Accounts Receivable collections, cash application, account reconciliations and payment discrepancies 

  • Accurately apply and code cash postings, identify any discrepancies and direct the invoicing clerk on how to adjust corrections in the system 

  • Perform follow-ups on delinquent accounts or recommend write-offs. Escalate disputes to the account manager if customers are unresponsive 

  • Assist in enhanced credit background checks of new customer accounts to comply with company terms and policy 

  • Respond to customer requests and internal queries for account information 

Qualifications and Requirements:  

  • The ideal candidate for the accounts receivable clerk position will be a person with a minimum of 2 years of work experience 

  • Working with a high volume of accounts receivable collections 

  • Fast learner, have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong analytical, financial, and mathematical abilities 

  • Strong time management skills to handle AR activities 

  • Degree or Diploma in accounting or related field is considered an asset 

  • Proficient with MS Office and experience with QuickBooks or ConnectWise software would be an asset 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
