The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of trade payables, employee expense reports, corporate credit card reconciliations, Partner Commissions payables, lease and rent payments, via cheque and EFT.

Outcomes:

First three months:
  1. Solid understanding of Accounts Payable related to Microsoft Great Plains functions
  2. Able to post timely and accurate payments to vendors and process cheque and EFT payments for multiple entities
  3. Full understanding of the purchasing module in Microsoft Great Plains

First six months:
  1. Full understanding of policies regarding Partner Commission payments
  2. Full understanding of corporate purchasing policy

Responsibilities:
  • Obtaining approvals to pay invoices
  • Coding payable invoices
  • Creating new vendor codes and entering new vendor information in general payables
  • Entering payables invoices and processing cheque and EFT payments
  • Processing monthly rent payments and invoices for multiple locations
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Reconciling corporate credit cards
  • Compiling spreadsheets for detailed payable invoices
  • Entering Partner Commissions Payable invoices and processing payments through cheques and EFTs
  • Corresponding with vendors, partners, and employees

Education and Experience:
  • Certificate or diploma in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Role
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounting concepts is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains is preferable

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes for this Role:
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented, accurate and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • Proven understanding of accounts payable functions with an ability to problem solve proactively
